About Us

Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Fabio and I’m a Brazilian dad living in Japan with my incredible wife and our curious, messy, hilarious one-year-old baby boy Jax. We’re a multicultural family figuring out how to raise a little one in a country that’s new to both of us—and honestly, it’s been equal parts beautiful, challenging, and full of unexpected lessons.
Parenthood is already a wild ride, but doing it in a foreign country? That’s a whole other level.
We’re raising our son without family nearby, in a language we’re still learning, surrounded by cultural norms that often leave us wondering, “Are we doing this right?”
From navigating Japanese healthcare and childcare systems to figuring out what’s in baby food labels (shoutout to Google Translate), every step has been an adventure. Some days we feel like we’re totally crushing it. Other days… we’re just proud we got through lunch without anyone crying.
That’s actually what led us to baby-led weaning (BLW). It gave us a flexible, intuitive way to introduce food to our son—one that lets us blend our cultures, explore different flavors, and turn mealtime into a chance for connection instead of stress.
I started this blog to share the recipes, tips, and real-life moments that have helped us along the way. Whether you’re a fellow expat parent, part of a multicultural family, or just someone looking for honest, simple baby food ideas—you’re more than welcome here.
This space is for you. For us. For all the parents raising kids far from home, doing their best, and building a little love-filled world one meal at a time.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you stay awhile!
